Wow, can you say, "Transformers"? Well, today was Cole's family birthday party. We have to separate birthday parties because Carl's family is rather large and they all come for birthdays! So we had about 20 people at our house for lunch. So the kids have a good amount of gifts and money coming in! Cole is really into Transformers and Star Wars Transformers so he got a lot of those. He also got some Star Wars Lego's from his big sister, some other Lego's, a RC car and more! Wow, talk about a haul! We did a smaller kid birthday with Cole so of course Kaleigh was already saying "he got more than I did on my birthday!" Well, she had 3 birthday parties! An evening out to see a show, a tea party and the family birthday! So everything is even! Why is that so important to kids? Anyway, it was a great day even though the temp was about 97 degrees today! We had the air cranked up and only the 3 boys braved eating outside. Cole thought that was pretty cool, sitting out there with his guy cousins, talking about cool stuff! Cake was made by Carl's mom and homemade ice cream was made by cousin Tim, yum! Happy birthday again, Cole!

Happy 7th Birthday Cole!
Cole's 7th Birthday was today! Yay!
He had decided on mini golf with some of his school friends (we kept it pretty small) and of course Kaleigh, Mom and Dad. We went straight after school and brought one of the boys along with us. When everyone arrived we played arcade games for awhile until we were sure everyone that was coming was there. Then Carl took them outside to start the game of golf. One of the moms decided to stay and helped her son. He had never golfed before. Some others hadn't either but they had a great time! It did take quite a while to get through the holes. The first hole probably took about 15 minutes for the 6 kids to golf! So by the 9th hole I went in and ordered the pizza and hot dogs for dinner. By the time the food came out 25 minutes later they had only gotten to the 13th hole! So I sent Kaleigh who had come in to go to the bathroom, to let Carl know the food was ready. They finished up the 14th hole and came back. By this time it was 5:15 and we ate the pizza and hot dogs and then had dessert which Cole chose. This happened to be chocolate covered marshmallows. 2-3 on a stick and dipped in dark choc, with white chocolate drizzle. The kids really enjoyed it! Then Cole opened his presents and we played a few more games and then came home. He got a lot of Transformer/Transformer StarWars, an RC scorpionrobot and some other little things. But he can't wait to play with all of them! Great fun! Now we just have the family birthday. Unfortunately that requires cleaning up the house...sigh...a mother's work is never done!

Tea with Teacher

This was fun! We had a fundraiser a while back and one of the things they asked the teachers to do was to raffle themselves off to one of their students. For example, some teachers will take the winner of the raffle bowling, or to see a movie or even invite them over for a bed time story. Now, as much as I love the kids in my class, I wanted to stay at school for my thing. I decided if a girl won, I would do a Tea with Teacher. After lunch I would set up my classroom table with a nice tablecloth, tea cups and some yummy treats and we would have tea(colored milk). If a boy won we would do a picnic on the grass with a Happy Meal and then maybe fly a kite. Well, thankfully a girl won and we had a lovely time with our tea. I made mini chocolate chip cookies, bought some lemon tea cookies, and dipped some yummy strawberries in chocolate! Our milk came from my magic teapot, (put a couple drops of food coloring in the bottom of the pot, then add the white milk and abracadabra- pink milk comes out! They can't figure out how it happened. Very fun!

Yay, I found the other photos!
Ok, so yesterday (my day off) I sorted through a ton of photos! All before December 2002 (which is when I got my digital camera) and there were a lot! I decided to get rid of doubles, blurry, poor angle and any other shot that was not worth keeping. It is incredibly hard to throw away photos but I got a lot done. In the process, I found these two photos from the rock climbing and repelling day trip! The one on the bottom is me with Lee and the one on top is me on the face of the cliff(you will have to click on the photo to see me). Anyway, I am very glad I found these and now I have them in my computer too! Yay for computers! Yay for digital cameras! I am soooo glad I don't have to sort through that many photos again in a while! I will eventually have to get to the years before my kids were born. The sorting that was done was only 1998 through 2002. And that was about 4 rubbermaid drawers full! About 30-40 envelopes each! So yes, a big task. I have yet to put them away. I am trying to get all the photos into little photo albums, except for the holidays and celebrations which I am going to scrapbook. I have a vacation scrapbook series and am starting another one called Celebrations. I don't attempt day to day scrapbooking it is too hard! So I stick with what I can keep up with. Unfortunately, I started 4 years too late! Whew!
