Being a good Dad
Well, Kaleigh and Cole have it pretty good. Since Carl has Mondays off, he offers to help out in the classrooms of his kids (mommy does this too by the way). He doesn't complain and he gets really happy kids out of it! They all love when daddies come in because it is different. Here he is in Kaleigh's class and doing rather tedious work. Now soon he will be going into Cole's class and helping the kids one on one with the computer. They will be starting a computer learning station and he will help out. I think that may be a little more interesting to him and I know Cole will love having him there. What a great opportunity for us to be able to work in the kids classrooms! It may be tedious work sometimes but the benefit is huge! Good Job Dad!

Sure, they want you there NOW. Wait until 5th or 6th grade. :-)

Bethany, who is 13 now, was horrified when she found out that I was going to be a chaperone at the last school dance. When I got there I found out that all of the parents there basically had the same experience. I think Beth had mixed feelings when she got sick and could not go to the dance -- sad that she missed it but happy that she was not there when I was (I went anyway).

I havent run into the horror of being at school with any of the kids.

In an odd turn about I keep hearing that my teens friends think we are cool, which causes some angst but more puzzled feelings from our two.

I think our kids think we are cool, but Kaleigh is probably having second thoughts : )
Cole still thinks Dad is way cool because he plays Lego Racers as much as Cole does! Wait til Cole starts playing "Call of Duty"! Like thats gonna happen! Well, maybe in about 10 years!

Er... Connor is enjoying Halo 2 quite a bit. Of course, he's not really playing the game the way it's intended, but the visual stuff is so fun to him, he just likes exploring it.

If Call of Duty allows you to switch off language, you may find Cole is ready to try it at about age 7...

:)

it isn't the language it is the gore. Cole had nightmares from Monster House! I don't think watching guys get bloodied would be a good idea any time soon!
