Ok, I Am So Over It!

Well, I was depressed and now I am over it...kind of.
Enough over it that I want to get on with the season of giving!
This year we will be making up some shoe box gifts for those local families
who lost everything in the fires. A friend at our church is organizing it and
I received an e mail with ages of kids and adults that could use some Christmas Cheer. So Kaleigh and Cole will be giving up a couple of stuffed animals and Kaleigh has quite a few Barbies she is willing to part with. I may see if I can get some little extras for one of the Moms. She could probably use some lotions and fuzzy socks and maybe a home made scarf. I am also including a Christmas Scrapbook and a couple of disposable cameras, so they can have some new memories to start over with. I am hoping that will make things smoother for the holidays.
So now I am getting more in the mood for Christmas and the yucky tummy feeling I had will hopefully go away! I didn't have a headache today so that was good!

Crank up the Christmas carols & sing along! Get some German ones. If all else fails, get eggnog & put in a lot of RUM. :P

Wheee!

I think Diana & I are going to help our local bus company on the weekend with their "stuff the bus" event for needy families.

I'm glad the headache went away - I hope it stays gone :)

When I feel overwhelmed by the yuletidal wave, I remember that EVERY holiday season came with some unexpected good time. Sort of trudge through the shopping and setup, thankful there's money to spend, people to spend it on, and a home to spend it in. For some reason I always look forward to taking all the Christmas stuff down, too. (My rum goes in diet cokes now. Can't do the eggnog anymore, unfortunately)

Hey flyingvan, good to hear from you! I am finally fully into the Christmas spirit and I think I freaked out my kids, I was singing merrily along with the radio, cleaning house and dancing around!
Kaleigh looked at me funny, and I said, "Hey, this is what I am like when I don't have a yucky headache!" She laughed and said, "Well, live it up while you can then Mommy." Goofy girl! Heehee!

We took advantage of the Knotts merry Farm freebie for firemen yesterday. They do a good job and there's actual nativity scenes and CHRISTmas stuff. Disneyland decorates but it's been totally secularized. Probably don't want to offend anyone. The Christmas plays they had at the Birdcage Theatre were really good. Came home late, put everyone to bed, and got the tree up. I'll finish tomorrow after work. They're calling for snow down to 3000' so not sure I'll be able to get home
